Virgin To Slash Mobile Broadband Cost To £5 per month, 5-Play from £50

Virgin To Slash Mobile Broadband Cost To £5 per month, 5-Play from £50
  • Digg del.icio.us reddit Facebook

As from Monday, Virgin broadband customers will be able to add mobile broadband to their current bundle for only £5 per month, although they will have to pay £25 for the mobile broadband USB modem.

Trustedreviews understands that the length of the contract will be slashed to only 12 months rather than the usual 18 months and will make of Virgin Media the first company to offer Penta-Play (landline phone and broadband, mobile phone and broadband, television) starting from under £50.

Although the basic package only offer you 1GB data allowance (that's download and upload), you will pay a mere 1.46p for every additional MB over your allowance which is the cheapest across the industry (bear in mind though T-Mobile won't charge you anything extra no matter how much you go online).

Note though that only customers on XL or L cable broadband packages or Virgin's Media ADSL Bundle 1 will be able to benefit from the £5 price which will otherwise cost £10.

Virgin Media is currently having a deal whereby you can get their 20mb broadband, their XL unlimited phone and XL unlimited TV all for £448 for the first year. Add mobile broadband and telephony for a mere £15 per month. Not bad at all.

You can find more about Virgin Media's offer here.
