In an attempt to add subscribers to its Openzone services, UK’s major landline operator BT has slashed its Wi-Fi charges by up to 50 percent as per its new price structure.
In addition, BT has also added almost 2,500 hotspots across Europe, with an aim of connecting 50,000 places overseas and over 100,000 locations across UK and Ireland.
The new monthly tariffs would start as low as GBP5 for general users and it would go up to GBP28 for business users.
BT has signed a deal with Swisscom Hospitality Services to provide connectivity in more than 223,000 rooms at around 2000 hotels across Europe and UK, including NH Hotels and Hilton Hotels in Continental Europe.
Furthermore, through Comfone’s WeRoam, and WLAN roaming hub, BT is also offering 418 new hotspots in France using METEOR Networks.
Quoting the soaring use of broadband connectivity while on the move, Chris Bruce, BT Openzone’s General Manager said, “We’ve listened to our customers and not only have we simplified our tariffs but we’ve added more values and places to connect.”
